Guy Beutelschies is the Vice President for Communication Satellite Solutions for the Lockheed Martin Space Company. Communication Satellite Solutions is responsible for building satellites that allow information to be transmitted and shared around the world.

With over 30 years of spacecraft experience covering the entire project life cycle, from proposal development through operations, Guy’s current primary focus area has been delivering the first two vehicles of Lockheed Martin’s modernized LM2100 satellite platform, which were successfully handed over to a commercial customer earlier this year.  Before taking over the commercial communication satellite portfolio, he was the Director for Deep Space Exploration, which was responsible for Lockheed Martin’s interplanetary and astrophysics missions for NASA.  Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, he spent 17 years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he served key roles on missions to Mars and Jupiter.

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a Master of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southern California.

Guy has been awarded a Space Systems Company Technical Excellence award, two NASA Exceptional Achievement medals, and one NASA Exceptional Public Service medal.
